A plane was engulfed in flames in Cromwell yesterday morning.
The incident occurred at 7am at the Cromwell Racecourse Airport.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswomen said a small two-seater plane was fully involved in fire.
The callout came as the Cromwell Volunteer Fire Brigade celebrated 150 years of operation.
Crews from neighbouring fire brigades attended, and covered for the Cromwell brigade while they celebrated.
