An electric "high-low" bed to replace this one in the palliative care unit at Dunstan Hospital will be bought with the $5000 proceeds of a recent Alexandra Lions Club charity golf tournament, held at the Dunstan course. Discussing the donation this week were (from left) Central Otago Health Inc (COHI) member Clair Higginson, of Clyde, Lions Club president Allan Fleury, of Clyde, COHI member and nurse Ann Moore, of Cromwell, and Lions Club member and tournament convener Barry McCall, of Clyde.

COHI is the sole shareholder of Central Health Services Ltd, which operates Dunstan Hospital. The new bed would be a significant asset and complement a similar one that was constantly in use, hospital general manager Karyn Penno said. Mr Fleury said the club made its donation to the palliative care unit because "this is something that strikes everyone, at heart. Everyone is connected to it in some way, and supports it."
