Many reasons to smile

It was a triple celebration at the rink —  the opening weekend for this season, this year is the 25th anniversary of the rink on its present site, and it is the first season the rink’s new $950,000 plant and heat exchange system with the nearby Molyneux Aquatic Centre is operating.

Ice Inline president Murray Millar said it was great to see the heat exchange system operating after so many years of wondering if such a system would work.

Mrs Elliot said the 25th anniversary was a significant milestone.

She had fond memories of the old rink at the Manorburn Dam, but loved seeing how the new rink had prospered.
