Leading role

Seamus Hart, of Alexandra, holds a strong lead towards the finish line during last night’s Round the Clock Race.

The race, hosted as part of the Alexandra Blossom Festival, was followed by a Mardi Gras where people of all ages gathered for a night of entertainment.

Festivities included a performance by children’s entertainer and author Dean O’Brien, also known as Yipadee.

A display of freestyle motocross also kept the crowd entertained with various stunts and tricks.

Thousands of people are expected to line Centennial Ave for today’s

Grand Parade, starting at 11.45am, and the accompanying Party in the Park in Pioneer Park will start at 1pm.

Alexandra Blossom Festival events will continue over the coming days.
