Tomorrow, the show will beam out live from the woolshed on Springfield Farm, just out of Ranfurly.
Interspersed with the live parts of the show, which will include frontman Tumehe Rongonui shearing a sheep, and lots of fun and games for the children, will be shots taken in and around Ranfurly yesterday and today.
"There will be a real rural feel to the show," associate producer Penny Watson said.
Children from the Maniototo Area School were asked to take part in the pre-recorded events.
They took great delight in showing off their newly-acquired luging skills.
They also displayed their very polished curling and ice skating skills at Naseby.
A good snowfall the day before had left Naseby looking like a winter wonderland which was an ideal backdrop for the filming.
The live show is on TV2 from 8am to 10am tomorrow.
