Two separate investigations are still under way into the death of an Alexandra lineman, who was killed on December 9 when the bottom of the concrete power pole he was working on near Millers Flat came out of the ground.
Roger Steel (63), who worked for Delta Utility Services, was attached to the concrete pole when it fell more than 11m.
He was working on his own at the time and police said the pole, at the Millers Flat end of the Millennium Track was "relatively new".
The investigations into the accident are being carried out by the Department of Labour and Delta.
Delta chief executive Grady Cameron confirmed Delta was carrying out its own investigation into the accident as well as co-operating with the Department of Labour.
The Department of Labour and an Invercargill-based lines company have launched an investigation after two men were taken to hospital when they came into contact with live equipment last week.
The two Power Services linemen were carrying out general maintenance on behalf of Power Net Ltd near the Seaward Bush substation, south of Invercargill at 11am last Wednesday.
A 54-year-old, who has worked as a lineman for more than two decades, was up a pole at the time of the incident, and his 41-year-old less experienced colleague was on the ground.
The two Invercargill men were taken to hospital by ambulance after coming into contact with live equipment, a Power Services general manager Keith Burns said.
