Shaun McLellan, of Alexandra, applied for subdivision consent to create two allotments of 319.5ha and 263.8ha within a rural resource area on the Raggedy Range.
His application stated one lot would contain a dwelling previously consented to, and no dwelling would be constructed on the other section.
Both were to be used for continued dryland grazing.
Two opposing submissions were received on the proposal, which highlighted concerns about future development of the site, access roads and water supply.
Council planning consultant David Whitney recommended consent be granted on five conditions.
• Old Cromwell Inc applied for land use consent to erect modern representations of historic buildings within the Old Cromwell Town historic precinct, including the Globe Hotel and Post and Telegraph Office.
Relocation of Behrens Barn and the Village Green is also proposed.
Three supporting submissions were received on the proposal.
Mr Whitney recommended the application be granted subject to 18 conditions.
• Ian Day, of Alexandra, applied for land use consent to establish, occupy, and maintain a rural lifestyle servicing and supplies shop with associated offices, car parks and loading facilities on property fronting Airport Rd and State Highway 8 near Alexandra.
Mr Day planned to use 6882sq m of the section for his development.
The proposal attracted seven submissions, four of which were in support of it.
Two opposing and one neutral submission highlighted concerns about the development being better suited to an industrial or commercial area, and it providing a precedent for further retail development within rural resource areas.
Mr Whitney recommended the council refuse consent.
• Greenfield Rural Opportunities Ltd applied for retrospective land use consent for the construction of a track, as well as for land use consent to gravel the track. It is situated within the Upper Manorburn Lake Onslow Landscape Management Area.
Three submissions were received on the proposal - two in support, and one neutral.
Mr Whitney recommended the consents be granted subject to 10 conditions.
• Ventry Holdings Ltd applied for subdivision consent to create a unit title subdivision, as well as for land use consent for the multi-unit development to breach yard and height rules. Its application stated the development, zoned within a residential resource area on Ventry St, central Alexandra, would be on a site previously occupied by a dwelling and garage which had been removed.
Two submissions in support of the proposal were received.
Mr Whitney recommended both consents be granted on a total of 32 conditions.
• Mt Difficulty Wines Ltd applied for land use consent to undertake earthworks and exceed height rules necessary for construction of production and processing facilities on its Bannockburn property.
It also applied for a change to conditions of previous consents relating to operation of its winery building and tasting, sales, and administration facility, as well as upgrading of an effluent disposal system.
Mr Whitney recommended consents be granted subject to 20 conditions.
• Forth Sunderland Ltd applied for land use consent to erect a 6m by 3m advertising sign within a rural resource area off Springvale Rd near Alexandra.
Its application states the sign would be within the Blue Skies subdivision on Nelsen Ridge Rd, to promote the sale of allotments in the development.
Mr Whitney recommended the council grant consent on 10 conditions.
