A milestone was celebrated by the Central Otago women's golf sub-association in Alexandra yesterday.
Past presidents Isobel Steven, of Cromwell (left), and Donella Hore, of Patearoa, cut the cake at the group's 50th anniversary lunch.
The lunch was attended by five life members, nine past presidents, four zone delegates and three selectors. The association has had two secretaries in its 50 years: Val Braidwood, of Alexandra, who has been secretary for 21 years, and the late Ola Roberts, of Alexandra.
Eighteen clubs and more than 1200 golfers are involved in the association, which covers Central Otago, Queenstown and Wanaka through to Waikouaiti and Middlemarch.
