The boys were manning the stall except for a brief intermission to "go outside and play'', Charlie said.
Locals were selling crafts, art and food at the fourth Earnscleugh Fair, the first outside its normal November date.
Co-organiser Angela McNaughton said the event was started to get more use out of the hall.
"We like to keep it local.
"We don't really count how many people come through, but it was very busy in the morning.''
