Extent of injuries not yet known

Alexandra resident Dick McArthur remains in Christchurch Hospital in a stable condition after a 10m fall from his garden down a steep rocky face to the park below.

Mr McArthur has yet to have his operation to stabilise his spine before he is moved to Burwood Spinal Unit.

His son-in law, Shane Gilchrist, said the hospital did not yet know the total extent of the injuries was but it was likely Mr McArthur would be a tetraplegic.
