Central Otago's only Honda dealership came under scrutiny from one of the company's top men yesterday. Toshiyuki Inuma (left), of Japan, is second in charge of the company's motorcycle division and is in New Zealand for the annual Honda conference in Queenstown, and to celebrate 40 years of exclusive Honda dealerships in the country.

He was joined by Blue Wing (motorcycle division) Honda general manager Matthew Rea (centre), of Auckland, and others to have look at Bruce Davidson's (right) dealership in Alexandra.

It was a flying visit - the party flew from Queenstown by helicopter and had a quick look around the town and Davidson Honda before flying back to Queenstown for the two-day conference, at which four new models of motorcycle will be launched.

Despite the short time he had in the town, Mr Inuma said it was a beautiful piece of country and looked perfect for motorcycle riding. He said it had always been a dream of his to visit New Zealand and now it had come true.
