Emergency services were called to a blaze at Earnscleugh late this afternoon.
Six fire crews from Alexandra and Dunstan were called to the fire on Conroys Rd, after a old burnoff reignited.
An area measuring about 150m sq of steep terrain was affected, but contained, Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Brent Dunn said at 5.45pm.
"There's no spread or nothing of value at risk.''
However, crews were expected to be on site for "some time''.
"It's just a matter of putting it out.''
