The Roxburgh ceilidh, which was to have marked the beginning of Scottish Week, has been cancelled. A bring-your-own style family fun night will replace it.
Roxburgh and Teviot Valley Scottish Week organising committee member Trudie Marsh, of Ettrick, said not enough tickets had been sold to cover expenses for the ceilidh, which was scheduled for tonight.
The committee decided to downscale to a free "quality family evening like yesteryear".
She said the Southland band Shindigs had also been cancelled but the Alexandra Pipe Band would be there.
Ticket sales for the whisky tasting on Thursday had also been slow but Mrs Marsh was confident that event would go ahead.
