Residents and ratepayers are being urged to get ''the full picture'' before they have their say on the upgrade of Alexandra's water supply.
The two main options for improving the water supply to meet national drinking water standards cost either $8.5 million or between $11.5 million and $14.5 million, and the public will be asked for their views next month.
Central Otago District Council Three Waters infrastructure committee chairman Stephen Battrick said a wealth of information was available on the council website at: www.codc.govt.nz/alexwater.
People without online access could contact the council office to discuss options to view the material.
''We want the community to have the full picture and time to digest all the information and ask any questions so they feel well-informed when we come to invite feedback during the formal consultation period in March,'' he said.
Water quality was the top issue highlighted in the district residents' satisfaction and opinion survey for many years.
