The Clyde Volunteer Fire Brigade had a busier day than usual yesterday, attending a motor vehicle accident, two fires, and topped it off with training in the evening.
Chief Fire Officer Richard Davidson said the day's work began about noon with a single vehicle crash on McArthur Rd, near Springvale.
The driver appeared to be uninjured but a passenger was taken by ambulance staff for assessment.
About 5.30pm, the brigade was called to a fire at Fraser Domain, in Earnscleugh.
It spread through pine trees, grass, and briars, growing to about 100sq m in size before being brought under control.
Another fire, of about 15sq m, on a property across the Fraser River from the domain, was spotted by a crew member at the first fire.
That was also attended by the brigade.
Mr Davidson said he wanted to get the message out it was ''very'' dry, and people needed to take care.
It was a restricted fire season, and all fires had the potential to get out of control.
He said the crew had done a ''great'' job and ''definitely'' deserved a beer - but only after training was completed last night.
