Fruit pickers and other book lovers from around the Teviot Valley flocked to the two-day book sale held at Roxburgh on Friday and Saturday.
Hundreds of books were on sale, side by side with a large cake stall and white elephant stall.
The annual book sale had been running for a few years and had established a reputation which brought people from all around the district, sales assistant Wyn Dryden said.
"It is good for pickers in the district to be able to get some reading material and it seems to fill a need for the holiday group."
Book dealers always arrived first thing in the morning on the day the book sale opened to pick up any books they might find valuable, Ms Dryden said.
"The white elephant stall also contains quite a few treasures from time to time and is well worth a look."
The money raised from the sale will help the Catholic Church community in the Teviot Valley.
