Paintings, sculptures, ceramics and wood will be on display as Central Otago’s Indigo art group stages an exhibition in the district for the first time in three years.

The collaborative group is made up of eight Central Otago artists.

Rachel Hirabayashi said they were excited to be back on home turf at the Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery. They had last been seen at the Henderson and Grant galleries in 2021.

"It feels great to be exhibiting back in our home locale. It provides our community, which has supported the group in the past, an opportunity to see current work.

"Many of the members’ work can only be seen locally through exhibitions such as this."

She said Indigo members designed and curated the layout of their exhibitions.

"It’s a creative process in itself that enables the group to discover relationships between our works and stories within our exhibitions."

The Indigo exhibition runs from July 23 until August 17.
