Landmark property Olivers Restaurant and Lodge is changing hands again, for the sixth time in 12 years.
Owners Doug and Lianne Bickley said yesterday the sale was confirmed last week.
They declined to give any details of the new owner, or the purchase price.
Real estate agent Alice Stewart said the new owner planned to use it for a business and more details would be announced in the new year.
The Bickleys bought the complex in February 2008, for an undisclosed sum, after it was passed in at auction for $1.625 million.
The couple shifted from their sheep farm at Tuatapere, Southland, and have tidied up the extensive grounds, had stone walls repaired and made a start on upgrading the accommodation part of the complex.
Earlier this year, Mr Bickley told the Otago Daily Times the couple were selling the property because they had a young family and believed upgrading Olivers was an ambitious project, better suited to people with a hospitality background.
Yesterday he said the couple had yet to make any decisions on their future or whether they would remain in Clyde.
The new owner will take possession of the property in mid-February.
The buildings, located on Clyde's main street, are classified as category 1 by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.
Fleur Sullivan established the business in 1981 as a restaurant and later opened a lodge.
She sold the property in 1997.
