Pumas Tomas Vallejos (left) and Bustos Maximiliano play with Oarabile Smous (2), of Waikouaiti, in the children's ward at Dunedin Hospital yesterday during a visit by the Argentine Rugby World Cup squad.
Team members spoke and sang to the children and posed for photographs with them.
The visit left Oarabile so excited he gave everyone high fives, while former patient Vivian Griffiths (14) could not believe his luck at choosing to volunteer in the ward yesterday.
"It's pretty amazing."
He was surprised at how normal the players were instead of the expected "God-like creatures".
Patient Ashley Ryder (14) said the visit gave her the shivers but she admitted the players were quite cute. She could not wait to tell her Spanish class of the visit.
