Advice to a Brae Laddie
- Sylvia Lobb

Don't take your bagpipes to town laddie,
Don't take your bagpipes to town.
Ye canna believe it, that here in Dunedin,
There are some that don't like the sound!
Don't wear your kilt in the city laddie,
Don't wear your kilt in the city.
When the cold wind blows across the harbour,
A true Scot knows ... more's the pity.
Don't have a wee dram of whiskey laddie,
Don't have a wee dram of whiskey.
Teetotallers will say "It's a mother's ruin,
And can make a bonny lad frisky."
So don't take your bagpipes to town laddie,
Don't take your bagpipes to town.
Out here in Moss ... giel they stir our Scotch blood.
Och aye, what a wonderful sound.
