Queenstown police are still looking for witnesses to an accident on Fernhill Rd last Tuesday, where a Taiwanese woman died after she was hit by a bus.
The bus driver remains off work.
Hsiu-Yuch Lee (48) was on holiday in Queenstown with her husband and two children as part of an organised tour, when she was hit by the bus about 9.30pm on lower Fernhill Rd near the roundabout.
Sergeant Brian Cameron, of Queenstown, said police were still investigating the case, and he was not yet able to say whether charges would be laid.
Two possible witnesses to the accident are still sought.
One was a male passenger on the Connectabus involved.
He is believed to be a local, and often travels on the bus between the stops on Fernhill Rd and Marina Dr, near Frankton.
The other possible witness was the driver of a light-coloured four-door car, similar in shape to a Toyota Corolla.
This car had been travelling along Fernhill Rd at the time of the accident, in front of a Queenstown Taxi van, and passed the Connectabus as it was travelling down the hill near the Heritage Hotel.
"Talking to these two people could be crucial to our investigation, so I urge them to contact Queenstown police," Sgt Cameron said.
Connectabus managing director Ewen McCammon said the driver of the bus was not yet back at work.
He was still receiving counselling, and Mr McCammon said the company intended to return him to work slowly.
