New Zealand Under-19 representative Bracewell (119), Sam Wells (62) and Andrew Hore (57) were all among the runs for University-Grange.
North East Valley's Darren Broom continued his hot start to the club season with 72 in a big win against Albion, while Taieri's Ben Kidston got to 99 against Kaikorai before being run out.
Jordan Sheed (91) and Hamish Rutherford (81) powered Green Island to a comfortable win against Pelichet Bay.
University-Grange (31 points) leads Carisbrook-Dunedin, North East Valley (both 22) and Green Island (21) and has claimed the one-day title with one round remaining.
The top two clubs after the final round qualify for the knockout semifinals on December 13.
The third-placed team will face a game against the Southland winner on November 29, with the fourth semifinalist found following a game between an Otago Country club and a North Otago club.
Uni-Grange 292/5 beat Caris-Dunedin 274 by 18 runs at Tonga Park
Two openers - the old and the new - gave University-Grange the perfect start as it set a challenging total against Carisbrook-Dunedin.
Former Otago opener Hore and the promising Bracewell combined for a rollicking opening partnership of 130 runs.
The left-handed pair are something of an odd opening couple.
Hore turned 40 this year and has two first-class centuries to his name; Bracewell is just 18 and seems destined to play for the Volts sooner rather than later.
After the openers had laid the foundation, Sam Wells joined the party and scored a brisk 62 as University-Grange finished just eight runs shy of 300 in its 50 overs.
Carisbrook-Dunedin gave it a good go, with Otago top-order batsman Greg Todd leading the way with 80, but James McMillan's three wickets slowed the home side's progress and it was dismissed with seven balls remaining.
North East Valley 226 beat Albion 116 by 110 runs at Logan Park 2
Broom grabbed more attention with another fine innings but North East Valley really had Jamie Murley to thank for this easy win.
Murley ripped the Albion top order to shreds as he claimed the excellent figures of five for 30 from 10 penetrating overs.
Albion's target was not massive but it slumped from 35 for one to 49 for five and the game was effectively over.
North East Valley hardly sizzled with the bat, either, but Broom's 72 and Derek de Boorder's 37 pushed it to a reasonable total.
Broom, the younger brother of Black Caps batsman Neil, now has 359 runs this club season at an average of nearly 60.
Taieri 263 beat Kaikorai 212 by 51 runs at Brooklands
Ninety-nine run out.
It is the most cruel of scores, and it is one Kidston will not forget in a hurry.
The Taieri stalwart had a fine all-round game against Kaikorai but will probably remember the day most for the run that got away.
He was run out for 99 batting at No 4, with Ant Harris (47) and Reuben Simpson (29) chipping in to push Taieri's total to 263 off 49.5 overs.
Kidston and Simpson then each took three wickets as Kaikorai, despite useful knocks from Daniel Duke (57), Colin Aitken (37) and Scott Hawkins (30), fell well short with more than five overs left.
Green Island 252/7 beat Pelichet Bay 207 by 45 runs at Sunnyvale
Some Neil Wagner pyrotechnics could not prevent Pelichet Bay from slipping to a fifth loss in six games.
Volts bowler Wagner starred with the bat, whacking two 6s and three 4s in his 54-ball 71 that formed the heart of Pelichet Bay's losing total.
Sheed (91 off 119 balls) and Rutherford (81 off 79) had earlier ensured Green Island would pass 250, giving its bowlers plenty to defend.
