The two-day conference, now in its fourth year, attracted 135 year 5 and 6 pupils from 35 Otago schools.
The event aimed to cater for different learning styles and engage children to further their learning.
Opoho School teacher Greg Hurley said it was about "creating that spark" for children and hoped they and teachers would return to their classrooms and pass on new knowledge.
As only a few children from each school attended, the conference was also about learning to work with different people, socialising and problem-solving, he said.
Over the two days, children took part in four different workshops which focused on learning to use new technologies such as audio, animation, computer graphics, hardware and software.
