The Dunedin Celtic Arts Festival has had a major setback.
Headline act Two Ocean's Trio, featuring United States bluegrass player Tim O'Brien, which had been due to perform on Saturday night at the Glenroy Auditorium, has been cancelled due to the death of O'Brien's father.
Dunedin Celtic Arts Festival director Bernadette Berry said ticket refunds would be available from Twang Town music store in Moray Pl or The Scottish Shop in George St.
Ms Berry said holders of season tickets would get a portion of their ticket refunded at the end of the festival.
The songwriters forum, featuring O'Brien, has also been cancelled.
It was to have been held on Sunday at 3pm in the Pioneer Women's Hall.
The festival, organised by the New Edinburgh Folk Club and launched last night, features six days of music, dance, art and poetry celebrating the city's Celtic heritage.
