Cricket: Live from India - the Volts

All of Otago's games at the Champions League twenty/20 tournament in India this month will be broadcast live.

If you were thumbing through this month's Sky guide looking for its planned coverage of the $US6 ($NZ8.4m) million tournament you would have come up empty.

Until yesterday, Sky was still working on a deal which will see all of Otago's games broadcast live on Sky Sport 1.

Sky spokeswoman Lisa Franklin confirmed the broadcaster had secured the rights when approached by the Otago Daily Times yesterday.

A full amendment to sports programming would go out early next week.

However, "I can confirm the first two games", she said in an email.

"Sky Sport will also have one-hour highlights packages from other matches during the tournament, but all Otago games will be live."

Otago opens its campaign against the South African Cape Cobras on October 10.

Coverage begins at 10.15pm.

Fans will have to get up early to watch Otago's second match, against the Bangalore Royal Challengers on October 13.

Coverage begins at 3.15am.
