Olympic triathlon gold medallist Hamish Carter will be the guest speaker at the biennial Clutha Sports Awards on October 21. Wellness programme co-ordinator Irene Mosley said the Milton wellness expo on October 30 would highlight a range of health-related services and products available in the community.
Free health checks would be available, and other activities, including entertainment and raffles, would be staged at the Coronation Hall from noon.
Mrs Mosley said the programme was popular because of the variety of the courses and seminars offered.
The Otago Southern Regional Primary Health Organisation was holding a series of "spring warrant of fitness checks" in Balclutha and Milton, which Mrs Mosley said were free education sessions "that will make sure you bounce into summer with energy and enthusiasm".
Topics would include understanding and overcoming stress, balanced living and being assertive.
Other events included a quit-smoking support group meeting and a first-aid course.
