The exhibition, called "Textural", will feature 30 pieces from the two artists at the Cloakroom Gallery for three weeks from Wednesday.
Both Bateman and Wademan are artists-in-residence at The Studios, in the old school house on the corner of Ballarat and Stanley Sts.
They have joined together to present the exhibition of textured paintings and fabric collages.
Wademan says they share a love for texture, colour and design.
"Our work has a connection through the media we use, so it is compatible to have our work displayed side by side," she said.
Both artists took part in the New Zealand Affordable Art Show in Wellington last month.
They both sold two-thirds of their work at the show.
Wademan has been working at The Studio for seven years and is the Cloakroom Gallery manager.
Bateman, originally from Invercargill, has been artist-in-residence for seven months.
"Textural" will be open 11am-4pm Wednesday to Saturday, until September 26.
