Waitaki Boys ran Southland Boys close in an 8-3 loss last week and will relish being back on its home paddock.
Otago Boys won the first-round encounter between the two schools 22-12.
It also had a 13-5 win over Christchurch Boys last Tuesday.
If Otago Boys and Southland Boys win, they will meet next week in Dunedin in the final round of the top four.
The winner of that encounter will host the final.
Otago Rugby Football Union amateur rugby manager Justin Gardner said the final would be played in the home town of the top qualifying side, though not necessarily at the school's home ground.
