It was the Chris Noakes show.
He dominated the game to help University A become the first holder of the Jonathan Keogh Memorial Trophy at the University Oval.
Noakes scored 26 points for the students with two tries, two conversions, two penalty goals and two dropped goals.
His versatility was demonstrated when he dropped a goal with his left boot in the first spell and with his right boot in the second half.
The students made a blistering start to the game with second five-eighth Andrew Parata bursting through a gap and Noakes scoring the try in the first minute.
It was 12-0 to the students after five minutes when Noakes threw out a long pass to prop Jeremy Aldworth who tore 45m down the touchline before putting in a chip kick that Noakes gathered to score his second try.
The Dunedin forwards began hitting the rucks hard to get their team back into the game and two tries were scored to reduce the student lead to 15-10 at the break.
When flanker Joe Dobson scored after 11 minutes in the second spell the student margin was reduced to three points.
It took 27 minutes into the second spell before the students scored their only second-half try when wing Hamish Johnstone broke 40m and scored after an interchange of passing with centre Brett Mather.
