Winger Tino Elisara was the hero of the Green Island team that had an upset win over Zingari-Richmond in the Hellyer Memorial Trophy match at Montecillo.
Elisara scored 20 of Green Island's points with a try, three conversions and three penalty goals.
Zingari-Richmond led 16-10 at the break and looked to have the game in its grasp when centre Kurt Schruder scored after 11 minutes in the second spell to lead 21-13.
It was after this that Elisara produced two brilliant individual touches to win the game for Green Island.
He cut through from 18m to break the defence to score a try and convert it after 14 minutes to close the gap to one point.
After 35 minutes he kicked a 48m penalty goal to take Green Island to a 26-24 lead.
The best player in the Green Island pack was hooker Brent Short with his driving play and hard tackling.
He used his strength and experience to score a try in each half.
The other key player for Green Island was second five-eighth Shane Waldron with his hard tackling and strong running with the ball.
The key to the turnaround of Green Island's fortunes in the second spell came when the experienced Dean Moeahu came on as halfback and gave stability and punch to the Green Island backline.
He also dropped a neat goal midway through the spell.
First five-eighth Jonny Noakes kicked accurately and was the best Zingari back while loose forwards Chris Bell and Ryan Newman were the best of the forwards.
