A 75-year-old Nelson man has been charged with sex offences spanning 50 years.
He appeared in Nelson District Court yesterday facing five charges of sexual violation and five charges of indecent assault, The Nelson Mail reported.
He was remanded without plea until May 19.
Detective Ruth Collins, of the Nelson CIB, said two female complainants, aged 56 and 14, had come forward separately during the past two weeks.
She would not comment on whether the two knew each other, and said the 10 charges related to 10 separate incidents.
Ms Collins said some of the offending allegedly occurred in Takaka, northwest of Nelson, 50 years ago.
The incident alleged by the teenager was said to have occurred during the past nine years in Nelson.
