An evening of popular opera classics and hits from musicals will be held in aid of the Kingston Emergency Services Building Fund on Friday.
A trio of singers and musicians will perform songs from Cats to Carmen in the Kingston Community Centre from 7.30pm.
Mezzo-soprano Genevra Harker resides in the township but first came to New Zealand on a singing tour with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
She gained her licentiate diploma in singing from Trinity College and performed in several London operas as well as giving recitals around the United Kingdom.
Soprano Sue Patterson trained in Invercargill then taught and performed as a soloist and opera chorister both in New Zealand and overseas.
Since moving to Queenstown, she has won various competition awards in Southland.
Ms Patterson is director of the Wakatipu Children's Choir and Remarkable Vocals.
She is working with the Les Miserables company which will perform in Queenstown in May.
Alison Frude will accompany the sopranos on the piano.
She moved to Queenstown after a career teaching and performing music that included an appointment as deputy pianist for the Orpheus Choir.
Ms Frude has been the accompanist for many concerts and auditions.
Door tickets cost $20 and include wine and cheese during the interval.
Children's tickets cost $10.
The building fund aims to extend the existing Kingston fire station to accommodate the fire brigade, St John, part-time health professionals and a police service, at a cost of about $300,000.
