The library had been asked to move from its premises at Elim Church because of an increasing congregation, secretary Kate Wilson said.
Catering for newborns to children aged 7, the library has 50 member families who pay an annual fee to hire items from the extensive toy collection.
Bouncy castles, board games, slides and bikes were just some of the items available for hiring at low fees.
If new premises were not found, families "are not going to be able to get any interesting toys for the children for a long time", she said.
The church had given the group until the end of March before it had to move, but finding new premises was proving difficult, she said.
The group was looking for a place with secure storage.
It needed an area in which to display toys, either all the time or during sessions between 10am-11am Wednesdays and Saturdays, with parking close at hand.
The group had written to the church asking for the deadline to be extended, but it believed the request would be denied.
The church had treated the group well over the years, charging only $50 a month in rent, but the request to move "was unexpected", librarian Janet Macpherson said.
"A lot of toy libraries close because they lack members, but we have a really great membership base.
"The toy library is really vibrant," she said.
She believed the library would either close temporarily or be forced to use a garage, which would not be ideal.
Anyone with a building suitable for the toy library was asked to contact Mrs Macpherson on 466-7881.
