Remand for company director over tourist death

A Queenstown river boarding company and its director were remanded over the death of a British tourist when they appeared in Queenstown District Court today.

Emily Louise Jordan was caught beneath rocks while river boarding on the Kawarau River in April last year.

Brad Alexander McLeod and his company Black Sheep Adventures face charges relating to the Health and Safety Act laid by Maritime New Zealand.

Each of the charges carries a maximum penalty of $250,000.

McLeod was remanded to reappear on March 23.
