A North Island Island campaign has already paid off for Nathan Williamson and the connections of Tas Man Bromac.
But the best could still be to come for the 4yr-old with the Harness Jewels just around the corner.
Williamson opted to send the son of American Ideal north for the 4yr-old features at Alexandra Park last month - the Taylor Mile and New Zealand Messenger.
That canny move paid off with Tas Man Bromac's dashing run up the passing lane for second behind Field Marshal in the Taylor Mile.
"He paid for the trip well and truly,'' Williamson said.
"He picked up $18,000 which was more than winning the country cups final down here so it all made sense.''
The gelding followed his second with a seventh in the New Zealand Messenger, and Williamson expects his stable star will have one more run before the Harness Jewels at Cambridge on June 4.
"He'll probably have a lead-up race - where to just yet I'm not sure,'' he said.
"He's had an easy week after the Messenger but he's pretty ready to go so it will probably be next week or the following for his lead-up run.''
Tas Man Bromac is staying at Robert Dunn's northern satellite stable at Pukekohe and Dunn's team is doing a "super job'' with the pacer.
"He's based there until the Jewels too, so it cuts down the travel and everything for him. He's enjoying the warmer climate up there too.''
Tas Man Bromac is the $12 fourth favourite on the futures fixed odd markets for the 4yr-old emerald category, but the 1609m should suit him perfectly.
"Hopefully we can get a bit of luck with the draw and he'll be a big chance.''
