A sports car stolen from North Dunedin and involved in a police pursuit has been recovered. Senior Sergeant Phil McDouall said the 2005 Mazda RX8 was stolen about 8pm on Saturday.
Police pursued the car at Pigeon Flat but called off the chase for safety reasons.
The vehicle was found abandoned at 7.30am on Sunday at the Evansdale Glen. The car had a blown tyre and a damaged rear.
• A 1996 Toyota Caldina stationwagon was stolen from Leith St, in North Dunedin, between 10.30pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.
• A person was disturbed when they tried to enter a house through a bathroom window in Calder Ave, Northeast Valley, about 5am on Sunday.
• Tools and clothing were stolen from a shipping container at Taieri Beach on Sunday.
• A blue 2001 Saab hatchback was stolen from outside a house in Gladstone Rd, Northeast Valley, between 7.15pm and 9.30pm on Saturday.
• A resident in Lawrence St, Mornington, was woken when a window in their house was smashed on Saturday night.
When the resident entered the room, a person was seen outside, running away.
• One hundred and twenty dollars was stolen from a wallet left in an unlocked car in Mosgiel on Saturday night.
• A moped was stolen from Queen St, Dunedin, on Thursday night. The damaged moped was recovered at the corner of George and Union Sts.
• Clothing was stolen from a washing line in Waitati during the weekend.
