Farmers on the outskirts of Christchurch are relieved after the dogs believed to have been responsible for a savage attack on more than 20 sheep were caught.
The dogs were shot by a farmer who found them attacking his sheep on Saturday afternoon, in close proximity to where other sheep were killed on properties in Hei Hei.
Joshua Olykan, who found a number of the dead sheep, said it was good news for the community's peace of mind.
The council is taking enforcement action against the owners of the dogs.
