Rotorua police have arrested a man in relation to a roadrage incident which resulted in a man being shot with a high-powered air gun.
It was believed the attacker had become enraged when the car driven by the 32-year-old victim followed too closely last Thursday.
He stopped and approached the other driver, shooting him in the face and arm with the air gun.
The victim was discharged from hospital the same day and was recovering well, police said.
Sergeant Malcolm Collins said police had arrested a man over the weekend in relation to the incident.
