Māruawai College had a strong showing at the New Zealand Track and Field Championships in Dunedin last weekend. Three students who represented Southland at the competition walked away with medals — Riley Wilson, 16, with a silver medal in triple jump, Max McGregor, 15, with a bronze medal in the 800m race, and Lauren Muir, 14, with a bronze medal in high jump.
