In a game where the title was always going to end up in Mosgiel, the team of Andy McLean, Dave Archer, Phil Stevenson and Dominick Geoffrey overcame Taieri Bowling Club clubmates Chris Cookson, Geoff Griffiths, Pete Andrews and Grant McLean 15-2 in the Centre Open fours final at Wakari Bowling Club on Friday.
Played in near-perfect conditions, the scoreline did not really reflect the game as singles were scored on all but 4 of the 12 ends played.
Of particular significance was a first title for Dominick Geoffrey and a tenth for Dave Archer.
The final also pitted son Andy McLean against his father Grant.
