Organiser Erin Thomson said she estimated at least 300 people had attended the event, which had taken place over three hours.
"This year we smashed our record donations — thanks to the additions of several $1 stalls," Mrs Thomson said.
She said the day had more than doubled the previous year’s earnings of $400.
Funds were collected for the Fairlie Kids’ Club and the Sports Recreation Fund.
Entry fee was a $2 donation, and a can of non-perishable food.
"We collected three large boxes of food donations that went to two local families and the Meals On Wheels programme."
The money was earmarked to pay for the $50 sports scholarships, which helped local athletes to pay for club fees.
She said it was such a great event for a small community like Fairlie.
"I’m just so extremely proud of making this American event a success in New Zealand."
All money raised by the stalls went to the fundraiser.
"But next year we are going to have some prizes for the best stalls, with winners receiving gift certificates.
"This was our first year having a royal court and a best-dressed family category."
