Ardgowan School has run a mufti day with food donations to help children with cancer.

Camp Quality reached out to the school and principal Ryan Fraser could not think of a more worthy cause to support.

"We thought it was a wonderful idea — just a cool cause, and rather than rather than just asking for donations and asking for money, [to donate] something tangible like breakfast cereals and breakfast things that they can take away and have at camp is pretty cool."

The mufti day last week was especially good due to a meaningful connection at Ardgowan, he said.

"One of our [pupils] has gone through that journey of having cancer in the last few years."

The school also has a dedicated sitting area called "Cody’s Corner", in honour of former pupil Cody King who died from cancer in 2000.

"The kids have been talking about Cody and are aware of the other wee boy in our school," Mr Fraser said.

"It’s cool for the kids to learn about Camp Quality and the things that happen in our community to support these kids with what they are going through."
