A bonanza of bonsai trees is on display in the Otago Bonsai Society’s latest exhibition at the Community Gallery, in Dunedin. The exhibition closes on Sunday. The art of bonsai is to form an idealised miniature image of a tree in an imagined natural setting, that embodies a harmony between the artist’s interpretation and the character of the tree. Otago Daily Times photographer Peter McIntosh captured some of the living artworks on display yesterday.
