Janine Presnall is celebrating her 30th year at Barnardos Early Learning Centre.

The centre’s manager said she enjoyed working with children, their families and the wider community.

Having eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter all attending the centre, the relationships she had formed at Barnardos were "very special", Mrs Presnall said.

"If you’ve got families, generations coming through, it’s a space that they all want to be part of."

Barnardos Aotearoa chief operating officer Heather Taylor said Mrs Presnall had made a significant impact on the early learning development of many children in Oamaru.

"Janine has brought warmth, patience and aroha to the children and their families over the years. She has their best interests at heart and always goes above and beyond to ensure they have the best start in life.

"Her incredible leadership and consistent credibility have been instrumental in fostering a supportive and dedicated team. We are so grateful for her services to Barnardos Early Learning and for continuing to create strong foundations for children to thrive and flourish."
