The event started on Monday — waves were a stable 1m-1.5m — and will continue all week with eight age group divisions for males and females across both shortboard and longboard disciplines.

The latest test results for all beaches (except Tomahawk) have now come back with "satisfactory" water quality levels, so most restrictions have been lifted, the Dunedin City Council said yesterday.
