University of Otago Office of Māori Development kaiwhakahaere kaupapa (project manager) Kiritea Smith (Ngai te Rangi, Ngati Ranginui, Tainui) plays a Māori game before the beginning of a kapa haka event, one of several events planned for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori at the university.
Ms Smith, along with other staff at the Office of Māori Development and Te Rōpū Māori — the Māori Students' Association, has organised a range of events for staff and students to engage with, learn and embrace te reo Māori during the week.
