John McGlashan finished eighth at the elite Rankin Cup secondary schoolboys tournament in Tauranga on Saturday.
A 1-0 loss to Hamilton Boys’ on the final day wrapped a solid week for McGlashan.
Tauranga Boys’ beat Timaru Boys’ in a shootout in the Rankin Cup final. Otago Boys’, who had qualified for the India Shield, finished 26th overall.
