Huzzah, the bazaar is back.

The annual Oamaru Altrusa Fabric Bazaar fundraiser is on once again this weekend at the Scottish Hall.

There will be plenty of hidden gems on offer for craft enthusiasts to use in their next project.

After the Oamaru Mail reported they were in need of more fabric, the club was quickly "overwhelmed" with donations, communications chairwoman Voreen Julius said.

"We were working three days a week [to sort the fabrics] — two afternoons and a night.

"We’re very pleased and everybody’s been very busy so we’ll be ready to go on Saturday."

She had been away from Oamaru for about a decade and this was the first bazaar since she returned to the town.

The event had grown as lot since then.

"I was around when it first started, which I think was about 12 or 13 years ago.

"I just looked back at the poster that I did in 2013 and we only ran it from 9.30am to [1pm] on a Sunday.

"Now we’re doing it over two days."

The money raised at the bazaar will go towards funding Altrusa activities during the year, as well as swimming lessons for children who otherwise would not be able to attend them.

"We also provide them with a swim bag, goggles and a towel, so that they have as much as possible ready to go."

The bazaar opens tomorrow at 10.30am and continues on Sunday.
