A pedestrian is in hospital in a serious condition after being hit by a vehicle in central Dunedin this morning.
The person was seen lying in the middle of the road shortly after 11am at the intersection between the one-way heading north and Hanover St.
They were being tended to by emergency services personnel and were later taken away by ambulance.
Police, Fire and Emergency New Zealand and a St John critical care vehicle attended.
A St John spokeswoman said the person was taken to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition.
A truck carrying a skip was parked up at the scene.
