Lions Clubs New Zealand’s "Row For Life" fundraising campaign will have rowers arriving on the shores along the Waitaki coast this month.

The fundraising campaign, featuring boats such as this one, starts tomorrow and runs until July, involving a team of rowers from all over the country, rowing from Bluff to Cape Reinga at the very top of the country.

A leg from Stewart Island to Bluff was rowed before Christmas.

The fundraiser will support Child Cancer Foundation, Starship Children’s Hospital, surf lifesaving clubs across New Zealand and the Lions’ Skin Cancer Screening Trust.

Lions Clubs Waitaki co-ordinator Klaus Steiner said the rowers would be supported by all local Lions clubs, surf lifesaving and rowing clubs, and they were hopeful the public would support the efforts to raise $4million — $1m each for the four charities.
